Patna. February 4, 2025: Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Patna, Bihar’s Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary launched a sharp attack on the Congress leader, stating that his presence and public statements would only weaken the Congress party.
“Wherever Rahul Gandhi goes, he only harms the Congress. Whatever he says in public appearances will further damage his party,” Chaudhary remarked.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Patna on February 5 to attend ‘Azadi Ke Parwane’, an event marking the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Jaglal Choudhary at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, Gandhi Maidan. This will be his second visit to Bihar in 20 days.
Vijay Kumar Chaudhary targeted Rahu Gandhi on the caste census:
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s past remarks on caste census, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary accused him of being uninformed about Bihar’s developments.
“Rahul Gandhi does not even know that a caste survey has already been conducted in Bihar, and its data has been released. The government also increased the reservation percentage for Dalits and backward classes based on the survey findings. Now, he was suddenly woken up and is talking about it without understanding the facts,” he stated.
Vijay Kumar Chaudhary further emphasized that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been at the forefront of the caste census initiative.
“If anyone has seriously worked on the caste census, it is Nitish Kumar. Bihar has led the way for the entire country on this matter,” he added.
During Rahul Gandhi’s last visit to Patna, he had targeted Nitish Kumar over the caste census issue. In response, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary reiterated that Bihar had already completed the survey and taken the necessary steps.
“The caste survey was completed, its data was published and reservations were increased accordingly. Now, Rahul Gandhi has suddenly woken up and is making irrelevant statements. Wherever he goes, he will only harm Congress,” Chaudhary remarked.
Congress Responds:
Bihar Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh countered Chaudhary’s statements, asserting that Rahul Gandhi’s visit will energize Congress workers in Bihar.
“We have urged Rahul Gandhi to stay in Bihar for longer durations, and he has accepted our request,” Singh said.
Rahul Gandhi’s visit comes at a politically significant time, as Congress and its allies prepare for upcoming elections. His interactions and statements in Patna will be closely watched by supporters and political opponents alike.
