Patna, September 5, 2025: In a fresh jolt to the Janata Dal United (JDU), two of its senior leaders—Dasai Choudhary and Bhuvan Patel joined Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj Party in Patna on Friday.

The induction ceremony took place at the Sheikhpura House residence of the party’s national president, Uday Singh, in Patna, where both leaders were welcomed with the party’s trademark yellow scarf.

Prominent Jan Suraaj leaders, including state president Manoj Bharti, state organizational general secretary Subhash Kushwaha, former MP Sitaram Yadav, former MLC Rabali Chandravanshi, and Sudhir Sharma, were also present at the event.

Welcoming the new entrants, Uday Singh launched a sharp attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying, “He had once walked on the right path with good people, but now he has lost his way. I was his admirer, but today he is surrounded by people who are taking Bihar towards destruction. His name will no longer be written in golden letters in history.”

Singh dismissed speculations about personal ambitions behind the leaders’ move, asserting, “They are not leaving JDU for posts. They are hardworking leaders who feel suffocated in the party.”

Dasai Choudhary praises Prashant Kishor:

Former MP and Ex-minister Dasai Choudhary said he had long supported Nitish Kumar against Lalu Prasad Yadav, but felt sidelined.

“When I was an MLA, Nitish Kumar was nothing. Later, despite being MLA, MLC, MP and minister, Nitish never gave me space in the party or government. I repeatedly sought his attention, but he ignored me. Prashant Kishor has welcomed me with respect, so I have decided to work with him,” Choudhary said.

He clarified he has no electoral ambitions, stating, “I don’t want to contest from Mahua or anywhere else. I only want to work for the organization.”

Bhuvan Patel says he worked with Prashant Kishor earlier:

Senior leader Bhuvan Patel, a founder member of the Samata Party, voiced similar discontent.

“I have worked as district president in Champaran and as an election observer in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Nitish Kumar is a genius CM, but with age, his physical ability is decreasing. The government is now run by a coterie, leaving old dedicated workers neglected,” he said.

Patel added that he had earlier worked with Prashant Kishor during his tenure as JDU’s National Vice President.

“I resigned from all JDU posts last month. Prashant Kishor has respectfully invited me, so I will now work with Jan Surraj,” he said.
