
Tiger found dead in Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve.
Patna, August 23: A tiger was found dead in the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) located in the West Champaran district on Thursday.
The incident is believed to be the result of infighting between two wild animals in zone number 46 of the Manguraha forest area.
An official from the VTR confirmed the development, stating that when the incident was reported to the forest officials, they arrived at the scene but found one of the wild animals already dead.
The official explained that the death resulted from a territorial fight between the two wild animals.
“We have recovered the dead body and are conducting a post-mortem examination under the supervision of expert veterinary doctors,” the official said.
This is not the first such incident in the area. Earlier, on March 24, a male tiger was also found dead in the Manguraha range.
The VTR is a regarded as a natural habitat for wild animals in the West Champaran district. According to a recent survey, the reserve is home to 54 adult tigers or tigresses, as well as 16 cubs.
