The election campaign ended for the Lok Sabha poll 2024, Tejashwi addressed 251 rallies in Bihar.

Patna, May 30, 2024: The high-decibel election campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha came to an end on Thursday at 5 PM, marking the close of one of Bihar’s most intense and colourful poll seasons.
Over the last two months, the state witnessed a flurry of activities—the hum of helicopters, convoys of campaign vehicles, grand roadshows, rallies, public meetings, and door-to-door canvassing filled the air as both alliances made their final appeals to voters.
Both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the INDIA bloc (Grand Alliance) threw their full weight into the campaign, leaving no stone unturned.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, joined by Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, led the INDIA bloc’s campaign, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar spearheaded the NDA’s efforts.
The campaign, often fiery and personal, saw sharp allegations and counter-allegations between rival leaders.
Beyond core political issues, the Bihar campaign also stood out for its symbolism and rhetoric—from talk of fish mutton to references to the Ram temple, and even personal jibes.
CM Nitish Kumar mocked Lalu Prasad Yadav over his large family, while PM Modi, without naming Tejashwi Yadav, hinted that he would be sent to jail.
Heavyweights in the election campaign:
The NDA deployed its top brass across the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed 15 public meetings and conducted a roadshow in Patna on May 12.
BJP national president JP Nadda held 9 rallies, Home Minister Amit Shah addressed 11 rallies, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and UP CM Yogi Adityanath each addressed 9 rallies, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke at 5 rallies, and MP CM Mohan Yadav addressed 3 rallies.
Senior leaders, including Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Nitin Gadkari, and Manoj Tiwari, each addressed one public meeting.
BJP state president and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary led from the front, addressing a record 120 public meetings, while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar campaigned across Bihar with 60 public meetings, 8 roadshows, and 2 virtual rallies.
LJPRV chief Chirag Paswan was among the most active campaigners, holding 127 public meetings and over a dozen roadshows for the NDA.
Grand Alliance counters with massive election campaign:
On the INDIA bloc side, Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahani dominated the campaign, jointly addressing 251 public meetings across seven phases—the highest by any leader in the state.
Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi also joined in, addressing 8 and 4 rallies respectively, while RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav addressed 2 public meetings.
RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari claimed that Tejashwi Yadav was the man of the match of the 2024 Bihar election campaign.
People of Bihar have trust in Tejashwi Yadav. That’s why the Prime Minister crossed limits by talking about mutton and Mangalsutra during the election campaign. The BJP used 32 helicopters in Bihar, and senior leaders had to camp here for two days,” said Tiwari.
He added that Tejashwi Yadav’s promises of Rs 1 lakh direct cash transfer, 1 crore jobs, and 200 units of free electricity resonated strongly with voters.
As the election campaign dust settles, Bihar now stands poised for the final showdown between the NDA and the INDIA bloc when polling takes place on June 1, with the results to be declared on June 4.
