Patna, May 23: The election campaign for the sixth phase will end on Thursday (Today) at 5 pm in Bihar.
According to an official of the election commission, the polling for the sixth phase will be held in Vaishali, Maharajganj, Purvi Champaran, Paschim Champaran, Siwan, Sheohar, Gopalganj (SC Reserved) and Valmiki Nagar on May 25 and 86 candidates are in the fray in those 8 Lok Sabha constituencies. Among 86 candidates, 78 are male and 8 are female candidates.
On the Vaishali Lok Sabha seat, current MP and LJPR candidate Veena Devi is contesting against RJD candidate Bahubali Munna Shukla. Veena comes from the Rajput community while Shukla comes from the Bhumihar community.
BJP has once again given a ticket to current MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal on Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat. On the other hand, Akash Singh has been made the candidate of the Mahagathbandhan. He is the son of Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh and contesting on the ticket of the Congress.
BJP candidate Radha Mohan Singh’s reputation is at stake in Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha seat. He has been winning this seat continuously. Against him, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) has given a ticket to Rajesh Kumar Kushwaha to contest as a Grand Alliance candidate.
Former state president Sanjay Jaiswal is contesting from Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket. Congress has fielded Madan Mohan Tiwari against him.
In Siwan, It is one of those seats where a triangular contest is expected. JD-U has given a ticket to Vijayalakshmi Kushwaha, wife of former MLA Ramesh Kushwaha, while RJD has fielded former Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary. On the other hand, former MP Shahabuddin’s wife Hena Shahab is contesting as an independent candidate and completely changed the equation in this seat.
In Sheohar, RJD has given a ticket to Ritu Jaiswal while JDU has fielded Bahubali Anand Mohan’s wife Lovely Anand against her. Apart from this, Rana Ranjit Singh has been fielded from AIMIM, while Yogi Akhileshwar Das is also contesting as an independent. The main contest however expected between JD-U and RJD candidates.
JDU has once again given a ticket to Sunil Kumar Kushwaha from Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha seat. This time, RJD has fielded sugar mill owner Deepak Yadav against him.
In Gopalganj, JDU has again made current MP Alok Kumar Suman its candidate. On the other hand, VIP has given a ticket to Premnath Chanchal from the Grand Alliance.
