
The bye-election on Rupauli assembly seat will be held on July 10.
Patna June 10: The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification for the bye-election of 13 seats including 1 assembly constituency of Rupauli in Bihar on Monday.
The bye-poll on this seat will be held on July 10. This seat was vacant after Bima Bharti, the JD (U) MLA from Rupauli resigned from the post of MLA to contest the Lok Sabha election on the ticket of RJD.
She contested the Lok Sabha election from Purnea seat. However, she lost the election to an independent candidate Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav. She came to the third position while JD (U) candidate Santosh Kushwaha was in second position.
The election commission will issue a gazette notification for filing the nomination on June 14 and the last date for filing the nomination is June 21. The candidates can withdraw their names on June 26 while the polling will take place on July 10. The date of counting of votes will be scheduled on July 13.
