The Bihar government’s 13 tableaux will depict a developmental push at Gandhi Maidan on Independence Day.

Patna, August 4, 2025: As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Nitish Kumar government has authorized the display of 13 tableaux at the main state function at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, on August 15.

This year’s tableaux will highlight key government initiatives, especially welfare and development schemes announced in the election year.

Tableaux will showcase the theme of welfare schemes:

It will prominently feature major decisions of the Bihar government, including an increase in social security pension, 125 units of free electricity for domestic consumers, and the formation of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University, aiming at generating one crore jobs.  

According to Patna District Magistrate Dr Tyagarajan S M, the tableaux will promote developmental schemes, social reform campaigns and women empowerment initiatives.

The themes will be represented to Panchayati Raj, Energy department, fire service, Industry department, Bihar state sports authority, Prohibition, Excise and registration, Directorate of Agriculture, Art Culture and Youth department, Social Welfare department, Law department, Bihar Education Project Council, Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society and Labour Resource Department.

Strict protocols for participation:

To ensure public safety, the maximum permitted height of structures has been fixed at 15 feet.

Additionally, artists participating in the tableaux displays must be 15 years or older.

Nodal officers from each department have been appointed to oversee theme execution, safety compliance and creative direction.

Tableaux displays at Gandhi Maidan have been a longstanding tradition during Republic Day and Independence Day, interrupted only during the COVID-19 pandemic.
