The Bihar government approved 38 agendas including 3% DA bonanza for its employees.

Patna November 14, 2024: In a major announcement on Thursday, the Bihar government approved a 3% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, pensioners, and family pensioners.

This adjustment, raising the DA from 50% to 53%, is set to be effective from July 1, 2024, benefiting thousands of state employees by mitigating the impact of inflation.

In total, 38 proposals were passed during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Other key decisions include a grant of Rs.207.49 crore was approved for non-financed colleges, aimed at enhancing educational resources and support.

Bihar government also approved agendas related to infrastructure:

Under the Urban Development Initiatives, the Bihar government has approved the formation of the Patna Urban Management Unit, along with one new post for an Additional District Magistrate in Patna and the addition of 19 positions for the Bihar Collectorate Clerical Cadre.

The cabinet sanctioned the Rural Road Strengthening and Management Program, part of the Chief Minister Rural Road Upgradation Scheme, to ensure systematic upgrades and repairs for rural roads through the Rural Works Department.

The Bihar Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approved several strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure, law enforcement, and public services across the state as well.

Bihar government wants to keep a close watch on social media:

The Nitish Kumar government has also approved Bihar Social Media and Online Media Rules 2024.

 With this, the idea is to manage and monitor social media and online content within the state, providing a structured framework for digital media operations.

Bihar government wants to improve facilities for tourists:

The cabinet sanctioned more than Rs.120 crore for acquiring 50.50 acres around the Punauradham Temple in Sitamarhi.

This land acquisition aims to build infrastructure to boost tourism around this significant spiritual site.

The cabinet approved a proposal to contract Sulabh International Social Service Organization for the maintenance of public toilets at key tourist locations. This move is expected to enhance sanitation and improve the visitor experience.

To improve administrative efficiency, the Revenue Land Reforms Department divided Patna Sadar into four distinct zones— Patna Sadar Zone, Patliputra Zone, Patna City Zone, and Didarganj Zone. A total of 60 new positions were created across these zones to support their operations.

Chief Minister Grihastha Purchase Assistance Scheme 2024:

This scheme, approved to provide financial support for household purchases reflects the government’s commitment to assisting citizens in managing living expenses.

To reinforce security in Urban Patna, the cabinet approved 153 new posts, including roles for three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), three police inspectors, 18 sub-inspectors, and 120 constables. This expansion aims to strengthen law enforcement in the capital’s growing urban area.

These decisions reflect the Bihar government’s focus on improving tourism infrastructure, administrative efficiency, public services, and law enforcement across the state.
