Patna, August 14, 2025: Leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav hailed the Supreme Court’s interim order on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process as a victory for the constitution, democracy and the unity of Bihar’s people.
He said that the court had upheld the opposition’s long-standing demands directing the Election Commission (EC) to provide booth-wise details of over 65 lakh names deleted from Bihar’s voter list, including information on deceased, transferred, traceless and duplicate entries, along with Aadhar details.
The EC has also been ordered to publish the names on its website and issue public notices.
Tejashwi Yadav claimed the interim verdict is a befitting reply to EC and NDA:
Tejashwi Yadav claimed this ruling is a befitting reply to the EC and to alleged political interference by top NDA leadership.
He accused the EC of dishonesty and withholding voter data, saying the opposition had raised the issue on June 27 and written to all parties except the BJP, which he alleged has never believed in democracy.
Tejashwi Yadav thanked the opposition parties, including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, CPI, CPI-ML, TMC, DMK, Shiv Sena, NCP, Sharad Pawar, JMM, VIP and others, as well as advocate Yogendra Yadav’s team, for supporting the fight.
Tejashwi Yadav alleged that EC’s silence persisted even after irregularities, such as multiple EPICs for BJP leaders and officials, were exposed.
He credited journalists, particularly Ajit Anjum and independent reporters, with playing a vital role in revealing the truth. Asserting that the Supreme Court’s order had exposed the EC’s conduct, Tejashwi Yadav predicted a crushing defeat for the NDA in the upcoming elections, accusing it of using the EC to harass Bihar’s voters.
He reiterated that the people of Bihar had united to defend democracy, adding, “One Bihari Sab Par Bhari.”
Tejashwi Yadav accused the Election Commission of orchestrating a game to weaken democracy, claiming that living voters had to prove they were alive in the Supreme Court after being listed as dead.
He said residents from his Raghopur constituency presented this evidence to both the court and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, exposing how democracy is being undermined in Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav alleged that planted media reports on infiltrators were circulated and used for political attacks.
He noted that the All India Mahagathbandhan, including Rahul Gandhi, joined the 9 July Bihar Bandh to defend democratic rights. He claimed that when the EC’s daily list updates are released, the whole truth will come out.
Tejashwi Yadav targeted Amit Shah:
Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tejashwi Yadav said the politics in the name of infiltrators was exposed as the EC’s affidavit contained no mention of such cases, except a reference to infiltration from Gujarat.
He alleged that the BJP’s Bihar in-charge, Bhikhubhai Dalsania, was registered as a voter in Patna despite having voted in Gandhinagar during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, calling it proof of the BJP’s election game.
Tejashwi Yadav announced that from 17 August, Rahul Gandhi and the Grand Alliance leaders will launch a Vote Right Yatra from Rohtas to tell the truth to the people.
