Patna, August 8: Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader on Thursday said that the BJP was bringing the amendment in the Wakf Act with a well-planned conspiracy and JD (U)-LJP was involved in this tool of polarization.
The statement of Tejashwi Yadav came after centre introduced Wakf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. He asked the MPs of his alliance to strongly object to the bill. He also attributed it to an anti-constitutional bill.
“After the suggestions and discussions received from many Muslim organizations, scholars and Muslim leaders of our party including the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, our National President Lalu Prasad and I had asked our MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to strongly oppose this anti-constitution bill,” Tejashwi Yadav said.
“Article 29 of the Constitution gives autonomy and freedom to every religion and we will continue to fight against every policy and intention to deny its respect. In the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), our party members will strongly put forward their point on every aspect point by point,” he said.
“Today, RJD MPs staged a massive protest at the Makar Dwar of Parliament on the issues of backbreaking inflation and farmers. During this, the MPs were wearing garlands of onions and potatoes. The MPs raised slogans like “Give MSP to farmers on crops”, and “Stop injustice to farmers”. MPs from many parties of the INDIA alliance were present among the protesters,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

Among the RJD MPs, Parliamentary Party Leader in Lok Sabha Abhay Kushwaha, Chief Whip in Rajya Sabha, Faiyaz Ahmed, Parliamentary Party Leader in Rajya Sabha Premchand Gupta, Dr. Misa Bharti, Prof. Manoj Jha, AD Singh, Sudhakar Singh and Sanjay Yadav were present.
