Patna, October 9, 2025: Former Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday announced that if his party forms the government after the upcoming Bihar Assembly election, every family in the state will have at least one member with a government job, irrespective of caste, community, or age.
Addressing the media at his official residence, 1 Polo Road in Patna, Yadav said the promise was made after the model code of conduct came into effect and is scientifically feasible.
“We have made this important promise after the announcement of the election dates. It is feasible and based on intense scientific research. After the results are announced on November 14 and our government is formed, we will make a law within 20 days to ensure one government job per family,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav criticized the Nitish Kumar government:
The RJD leader claimed that during his 17-month tenure in the Grand Alliance government, he had already fulfilled his earlier promise of providing 5 lakh jobs.
“In the last 20 years, this Nitish-NDA government has failed to provide jobs. But when I came to power for 17 months, I gave 5 lakh jobs. I am not satisfied with that, and I want to ensure that every family in Bihar has at least one government employee,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav said the plan would automatically help resolve issues such as housing and livelihood.
He accused the current Nitish Kumar-led NDA government is copying his idea without vision.
“When I promised 10 lakh jobs in 2020, Nitish Kumar and NDA leaders mocked me. Later, I implemented it in the 17-month tenure as a Deputy Chief Minister. They do not want to give government jobs, and hence they have announced stipends for unemployed youths. They do not want to end unemployment in Bihar,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav further claimed that the Nitish-led government has only brought insecurity and instability to Bihar over the past two decades.
Tejashwi Yadav said the celebration of Bihar starts after November 14:
“Once our government is formed after November 14, we will ensure complete security on social, financial and law and order. The celebration of Bihar, ‘the Jashn of Bihar’, will begin after November 14,” he said.
Promising a transparent and accountable administration, Tejashwi Yadav concluded, “I will work for five years with Sacchi, Imaandaar and perfect government (Truthful, honest and perfect government) in Bihar.”
