Tejashwi Yadav pens emotional Rakshabandhan letter, marks special appeal to sisters of Bihar.

Patna, August 9, 2025: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has written an emotional letter to the women of Bihar on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, combining festival greetings with a political appeal ahead of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025.

Sharing the letter on X and Facebook, Tejashwi Yadav extended his heartiest wishes and urged women to symbolically tie a rakhi for him.

“My dear sisters of Bihar, first of all, heartfelt wishes to you on Rakshabandhan. Being your brother, I urge you that after tying rakhis to your brothers today, tie a rakhi in the name of your brother Tejashwi Yadav as well. Even through I cannot come to every house, I am making policies for the well-being and security of every sister. I need your partnership to implement these schemes,” he wrote.

Tejashwi Yadav’s promises for women:

The RJD leader outlined a series of proposed schemes including complete care from birth to employment of every girl under Beti program, Rs 2,500 per month for every woman under Mai-Behan Maan Yojana, Rs 1,500 pension for disabled, elderly and widows, LPG cylinders at Rs 500, 200 units electricity free to every household, high-level residential coaching institutes for daughters, world-class sports training and employment opportunities, free exam forms and travel facilities, and ban on question paper leaks.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the NDA for repeating old promises:

Tejashwi Yadav accused the current government of repeating old promises ahead of elections that, according to him, remained unfulfilled for two decades.

He contrasted this with his 17-month tenure, claiming that lakhs of jobs were created and that impossible is not in Bihar’s dictionary.

Vowing accountability, he said, “As soon as we come to power, the scam of Rs 70,000 crore will be accounted for and this amount will be given to the sisters of Bihar as a Rakshabandhan Shagun.”

Concluding his letter, Tejashwi appealed to women voters not to fall for “the promises of hypocrites” and to help the Grand Alliance form a positive, developmental and women-centric government.

He added that it is the blessings of his sisters that give him the strength to make Bihar number one.
