Tejashwi Yadav did not take notice of Pappu Yadav.
Patna: Former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav on Friday claimed he did not take notice of Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav.
When asked about Pappu Yadav who claimed a ticket for the Purnea Lok Sabha seat, Tejashwi Yadav said: “It is not our matter. I don’t know any individual person. We have an old alliance with the Congress party and discussion on the seat sharing was taking place for a long time. The number of seats for the Congress was finalized in January this year.”
“During the discussion on the seat sharing formula, Congress has not demanded the Purnea seat. So there is not a question of giving this seat to it,” he said.
Pappu Yadav had claimed to contest from Purnea in Lok Sabha election 2024 but this seat went to RJD after seat sharing formula and he left empty handed.
The meaning of Tejashwi Yadav clearly suggests that Congress party has put Pappu Yadav in dark. Pappu Yadav, merged his party in Congress with the hope to contest the Lok Sabha election from Purnea. He is campaigning to make Rahul Gandhi prime minister of the country. However, the Congress party has no faith in him.
The leaders of Bihar Congress are not looking pleased with the arrival of Pappu Yadav in the party. Party state president Akhilesh Singh stayed away from the events of Pappu Yadav. He also avoided making any statement on him.
During the seat sharing negotiation, a top source in the Congress said that the party’s leaders had not emphasized on the Purnea seat. They looked from the Katihar seat and finally got it after long discussion with RJD leaders. Tariq Anwar is a probable candidate of Congress in Katihar.
RJD had already given the ticket to Bima Bharti to contest from Purnea. This was also in the mind of Congress leaders.
“Congress is a party known for duel policies. It has asked Pappu Yadav to merge his party in Congress but not given anything. The statement of Tejashwi Yadav proved it. If Pappu Yadav has courage then show it by contesting the election. Tejashwi Yadav cannot allow any Yadav leader to flourish in Bihar apart from his own family,” said Arvind Kumar Singh, spokesperson of BJP.
