Tejashwi Yadav claims credit for pension hike, says Nitish Kumar forced to initiate opposition.

Patna, June 22, 2025: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday, once again escalated his attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, asserting that the hike in social security pension from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 was a direct result of opposition pressure.
In a post uploaded on his official X handle on Sunday, Tejashwi said: “For 20 years, Nitish Kumar did not feel the need to increase pensions. But after our announcement to raise it to Rs1500 and link it with inflation, with government was forced to react. The NDA didn’t act out of compassion, but out of compulsion.”
Tejashwi Yadav claimed Nitish Kumar copied his idea:
Tejashwi Yadav claimed that the NDA government is only focused on elections, accusing it of copying his plans without vision.
“They copied our jobs promise earlier, and now our pension plan. Nitish Kumar is tired _ he no longer leads, he initiates. The people of Bihar can clearly see who is original and who is a copy.”
Nitish Kumar is addressing issues like jobs and welfare due to opposition pressure:
He stressed that while the opposition is not in power, it has forced the government to act on critical issues like employment and welfare.
“Imagine what we can achieve when we come to power if we can compel change even from the opposition benches,” he added.

Tejashwi Yadav during the press conference on Saturday also criticized Nitish Kumar for copying his ideas and hiked the social security pension in tension applied by him.
