Tejashwi Yadav asked PM Modi to reply to his Ladla CM’s act during the national anthem.

Patna March 21, 2025: A day after Nitish Kumar allegedly disrespecting the national anthem during the inauguration of the Sepak Takraw World Cup at Patna’s Patliputra Sports Complex, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the Chief Minister of insulting the national anthem and questioned his mental and physical fitness to lead the state.

He demanded Kumar’s resignation and criticized the silence of the state’s two Deputy Chief Ministers on the matter.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Sharp Questions:

“Where are Bihar’s two Deputy Chief Ministers? Why are they silent on this issue? Nitish Kumar is the ‘Ladla CM’ of PM Modi. Why hasn’t the Prime Minister condemned this act even in a tweet,” Yadav asked.

“Disrespecting the national anthem is a punishable offense under the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, with a three-year jail term. If BJP leaders justify Nitish’s act, FIRs should be lodged against them,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of “Fake Nationalism”:

Yadav did not hold back in attacking the BJP, accusing them of double standards.

“BJP leaders’ silence proves they practice fake nationalism. Nitish Kumar has insulted 140 crore Indians.

He must apologize in the Assembly. As a Bihari, my head hangs in shame because of this disgraceful act,” Yadav said.

RJD’s plan for mass protests:

RJD has decided to statewide protests against CM Nitish Kumar. Its leaders have demanded a public apology in the Bihar Assembly. If not, opposition leaders will March to Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has come under sharp criticism after a video from the event showed Kumar engaging in conversation and gesturing while the anthem played, leading to widespread condemnation from opposition leaders.

Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi echoed these sentiments, questioning Kumar’s mental stability and suggesting he should step down if unfit to govern.

“This is not only an insult to the national anthem but also an insult to the entire nation, If Nitish Kumar is not in his right mind, then he should resign and make his son Nishant Kumar or someone else the Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar’s mind is not working, in such a situation Nitish Kumar should bring his son forward,” Rabri Devi said.

The controversy has sparked uproar in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, with opposition members demanding an apology from the Chief Minister and disrupting proceedings.

The assembly witnessed heated exchanges, leading to adjournments till Monday.

As of now, there has been no official response from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding the allegations.
