Tejashwi Yadav alleged Prashant Kishor hijacked the BPSC 70th PT exam protest.

Patna January 4, 2025: Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has intensified his criticism of Prashant Kishor, alleging attempts to politicize the ongoing BPSC candidates’ protest and questioning Kishor’s past political affiliations.
On Saturday, Yadav reiterated his party’s support for the protesting students but accused Kishor of hijacking the movement for personal and political gain.
Tejashwi Yadav’s allegation:
Tejaswi Yadav stated that the students were clear from the outset that their movement should remain apolitical.
“Respecting this sentiment, we have provided moral support, meeting with the students upon their request and writing to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar twice on their behalf,” Yadav said.
He also noted that Mahagatbandhan MLAs had raised the students’ demands, emphasizing their commitment to justice for the students.
However, Yadav accused Kishor of making deals with the government and allowing the movement to be crushed. Referring to the lathi charge on students, he claimed that everyone knew who was behind the violent suppression and the alleged betrayal of the movement’s integrity.
Questions about Political History:
Tejashwi Yadav also raised questions about Kishor’s past, particularly his appointment as the national Vice President of the Janata Dal United JD(U) under Nitish Kumar. He pointed out that even Nitish Kumar had previously clarified the circumstances under which Kishor was elevated to the post.
Using a metaphor, Tejashwi Yadav likened the controversy around Kishor’s vanity van to a staged production.
“Actors sit in the vanity van, and the one who makes them sit is the producer and director. Everyone knows which producer and director have made the actor sit.”
This comment was a pointed attempt to portray Kishor as a puppet in a larger political scheme, orchestrated by unseen forces.
Tejaswi Yadav’s remarks reflect a broader attempt to question Kishor’s credibility and political motives. By raising doubts about his affiliations and decisions, Yadav seeks to position himself as a more genuine ally of the students.
Meanwhile, the focus on Kishor’s vanity van and alleged political manoeuvring distracts from the core issues raised by the protesting students, further politicizing an already tense situation.
Jan Suraj Party response:
On the other hand, Vivek Kumar, the spokesperson of Jan Suraj Party clarified that the vanity van parked at Gandhi Maidan was being used as a washroom facility for those participating in the hunger strike.
“The opposition leaders focus on the vanity of their petty politics and a deliberate attempt to divert from the government’s failure to address the students’ grievances,” Kumar said.
“I want to challenge leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and BJP leaders, to spend a night under the Gandhi statue in Gandhi Maidan to understand the students’ plight amid the harsh cold,” he said.
