Tejashwi Yadav alleged centre is undermining the country’s reservation.

Patna, August 17: Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, alleged that the Narendra Modi government is systematically undermining the reservation system of the country.

While referring to a job advertisement (Number 54/2024) issued by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 45 posts at the joint secretary, deputy secretary and director level through lateral entry, Tejashwi Yadav pointed out that it has not mentioned any provision for reservation for SC, ST and OBC candidates.

“This advertisement is just an example of how the Narendra Modi government is playing with the reservation and the constitution of the country written by the Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. UPSC has issued a job advertisement through lateral entry for the recruitment of 45 jobs joint secretary, deputy secretary and director-level posts but did not mention the reservation. If these posts were filled through the traditional Civil Services Examination, the reservation policy would have been applicable, ensuring that a significant portion of these posts—potentially 22 or 23 out of the 45—would have been reserved for Dalit, SC, ST or OBC backgrounds,” Tejashwi Yadav said, though a post uploaded on the social media platform X and Facebook.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the central government, accusing it of systematically dismantling the reservation system in a deliberate and organized manner.

“In the previous elections, PM Narendra Modi and leaders of NDA alliance partners claimed that they would not allow anyone to finish the reservation and the rights of SC, SC and OBC but now, it is happening just in front of them. The SC, ST and OBC leaders of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand are supporting the central government,” Tejashwi Yadav said in his post.

Tejashwi Yadav further said that the people of the country will not forgive them for taking the rights of 90% people.

“I want to appeal to people from SC, ST, OBC as well as economically disadvantaged individuals from the general category to wake up as they are taking your rights in the name of religions,” Tejashwi Yadav said.
