Tej Pratap showed intention to contest the Mahua seat in 2025 which could be a setback for the present MLA.

Patna December 12, 2024: The political dynamics in Bihar’s Mahua assembly constituency have taken a dramatic turn as RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav inaugurated a private nursing home in Vaishali’s Mahua block on Thursday.

During the visit, his elder son and current Hasanpur MLA, Tej Pratap Yadav, reiterated his claim over the Mahua seat, calling it the family’s “ traditional seat.”

Tej Pratap Yadav claimed his soul lives in Mahua:

Tej Pratap stated, “I gave money for the development of Mahua from my MLA fund as well as from my mother’s fund. A medical college was also built during my tenure. My body may be anywhere, but my soul remains in Mahua.”

This statement has further cemented his intent to contest from Mahua in the upcoming assembly elections, leaving the political scene buzzed with speculation.

Current MLA is unsettled with Tej Pratap Yadav’s intention:

Currently, the Mahua assembly seat is held by RJD, MLA Mukesh Roshan. The announcement of Tej Pratap’s candidacy has deeply unsettled Roshan, who has openly expressed his apprehensions.

Upon learning of Tej Pratap’s intentions, Roshan broke down publicly a few days ago, saying, “Tej Pratap is Lalu Prasad’s son. How can I compare myself with him? I am a small worker.”

He further stated that if he is denied the opportunity to contest, he would consider running a clinic, as he is a doctor, emphasizing his continued desire to serve the public in other capacities.

The event, which saw Lalu Prasad Yadav inaugurating a private clinic at Jawahar Chowk amidst tight security, was attended by prominent RJD leaders, including former minister Shivchand Ram and former MLA Prema Chaudhary. Mukesh Roshan also welcomed Lalu Yadav warmly at Ram Ashish Chowk in Hajipur.

With the assembly elections approaching, Tej Pratap’s declaration has triggered significant political ripples.

The Mahua seat, already a symbolically important constituency for the RJD, now appears to be a battleground for internal party dynamics.

The move has not only put Mukash Roshan in a precarious position but has also intensified discussions about candidate selection and strategic alignments within the RJD.
