Patna, June 2, 2024: While several exit polls have predicted a clear majority for the NDA, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has dismissed the projections, calling them incorrect and full of errors.
In a post on social media platform X, the RJD pointed out what it described as major factual blunders in multiple exit polls. The party highlighted that the India Today—Axis My India exit poll projected 4 to 6 seats for Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in Bihar, even though the party contested only 5 seats in the state.
RJD highlighted discrepancies in exit polls:
The RJD also questioned exit poll figures attributed to the CPI(M) contested only one seat in Jharkhand, yet exit polls are showing it winning 2—3 seats,” the party wrote.
Further, the RJD cited discrepancies on Zee News’s exit poll, which showed the NDA winning 16—19 seats in Haryana, even though the state has only 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.
Similarly, in Himachal Pradesh, with 4 seats, it was shown as giving 6 to 8 seats to the NDA.
Grand Alliance leaders expressed confidence in winning elections:
Amid these objections, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav reiterated his confidence that the INDIA bloc would form the next government at the centre by securing over 295 seats.
RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha also questioned the credibility of exit polls and urged patience until the actual results are announced on June 4.
“We should wait for June 4. What are exit polls? We have seen it twice in Bihar. We were expected to lose, and that is exactly what happened. A similar situation will unfold this time as well,” he said.
