Patna, April 13, 2024: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday released his party’s manifesto, titled Parivartan Patra-24 Jan Vachan, marking employment and social welfare the central focus.

Yadav announced that if the INDIA bloc forms the government at the Centre, it would create 1 crore government jobs.

“At present, 30 lakh posts in the government sector are lying vacant. We will not only fill those posts but also create 70 lakh new jobs. Recruitment for the vacant posts will start from August 15, 2024,” he said.

Recalling his earlier pledge, Yadav said, “In the 2020 Assembly election, we had promised 10 lakh government jobs. We could not form the government as we were short by 4-5 seats. But during our 17 months in government, we managed to provide 5 lakh government jobs, a record unmatched by any state.”

The RJD leader targeted the BJP:

Taking aim at the BJP, he added, “The BJP had promised 2 crore jobs per year but has failed to deliver. We are genuine in our commitments. Whatever we have promised earlier, we have fulfilled. This time too, we will fulfil the promise of 1 crore government jobs.”

Alongside jobs, the RJD leader announced a direct annual support of 1 lakh to women from poor families, starting this year on Raksha Bandhan.

The RJD’s manifesto has numerous welfare schemes:

The RJD manifesto also includes a wide range of promises, including special status for Bihar and a special package for the state, abolition of the Agniveer scheme, with permanent recruitment in military and paramilitary forces, new airports at Purnea, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Raxaul.

The RJD leader also highlighted the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations and MSP for 10 crops, 200 units of free electricity for all households, the implementation of the Mandal Commission report, stronger reservations for deprived sections, Dalit, and tribal communities, industrial support, start-up incubators, and incentives for youth.

He also promised higher stipends and salaries for Anganwadi and midday meal workers, free medical consultancy, education audits, caste based census, women empowerment schemes, creation of a Youth Commission, restoration of the old pension scheme, construction of a film city, youth training in film and television, and renovation of heritage and tourism sites.

“This manifesto reflects our commitment to bring prosperity and progress, not just to Bihar but to the entire country,” Yadav said while releasing the manifesto.
