New Delhi, March 31, 2024: Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, linking his electoral guarantees to cheap Chinese products that fail after limited use.
Addressing a massive Samvidhan Bachao (Save the Constitution) Rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, Yadav said, “The way Chinese products spoil after being used two to four times, the guarantee of Modi will remain only till the election. No one in the BJP talks about Modi’s old guarantees now. What happened to the promise of two crore jobs every year and Rs 15 lakh in every bank account? They can’t answer these questions—they only run propaganda to mislead the people.”
Tejashwi Yadav promised jobs:
Citing a survey claiming 83% of youths are unemployed, Yadav alleged that the Modi government has done nothing for the last 10 years.
“If we form the government at the Centre, we will give jobs to the people of the country,” he declared.
In a democratic moment, Tejashwi Yadav sang a satirical song targeting the Prime Minister.
Tejashwi Yadav attacked on BJP’s 400-seat claim:
He also raised concerns about the BJP’s slogan of winning 400 seats, hinting at alleged tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
“The way they chant slogans of 400 seats, it looks like they have fixed the setting of the EVMs,” he said.
He accused the Centre of imposing an undeclared emergency, citing the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, and alleged that the government was behaving in a dictatorial manner.
The rally saw the participation of several INDIA block heavyweights, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, Dipankar Bhattacharya, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and the family members of jailed leader Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren.
Leaders collectively urged citizens to vote in large numbers to protect the Constitution and democracy.
They highlighted that while the NDA secured 23 crore votes in 2019, the opposition collectively polled 25 crore votes, but division among parties allowed the NDA to retain power.
Tejashwi Yadav concluded by asserting that the growing public turnout at the INDIA bloc rallies signalled that the end of Modi’s rule is near.
