RJD demanded the resignation of Narendra Modi from PM post.
Patna June 4: Despite tall claims of 400 seats, BJP is well behind the majority figure mark of 272 on its own in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
With the expected result not coming in the favor of the BJP, RJD leader and spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan said that the people of the country have given a clear mandate against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Therefore, keeping in mind the democratic norms, he should resign from his post immediately.
“This time the BJP fought the election only in the name of Narendra Modi and he has been completely rejected by the people of the country. The BJP did not have any issues in this election. The saffron leaders were asking for votes only in the name of Narendra Modi. The BJP never asked for votes in the name of NDA. In the last ten years, neither a forum of NDA was ever created nor a single meeting was ever held in the country. What the BJP is calling NDA today was only an adjustment of seats with some regional parties. That is why there is a lot of contradiction in the manifestos of these parties,” he said.
“While the BJP has talked about taking away reservation from minorities in its manifesto, Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP has promised to give reservation to minorities in its manifesto,” Gagan said.
“Narendra Modi himself won the 2019 election from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency by a margin of about five lakh votes, whereas this time after lagging behind in the initial phase, he was able to win by a margin of only one and a half lakh votes. At the same time, Shankar Lalwani of BJP won from Indore by a margin of 10 lakh votes and Shivraj Singh Chauhan by a margin of about 8 lakh votes. It has also become clear from these examples that Narendra Modi has lost the trust of the people of the country. Thus, his remaining in the post of Prime Minister till now is against morality and democratic norms,” Gagan said.
