RJD announced the list of 22 candidates for the Lok Sabha election 2024.
Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) announced the names of 22 candidates for the Lok Sabha election 2024 on Tuesday evening.
The party is contesting on 23 seats in Bihar and it has not announced the candidate for Siwan Lok Sabha seat. Sources have said that RJD may give the ticket of Siwan to Hina Shahab, wife of late Bahubali MP Mohammad Shahabuddin.
As per the list issued from the office of party’s state president Jagadanand Singh, RJD has given the ticket to Kumar Sharvjeet to contest from Gaya (Reserved), Shrawan Kushwaha to contest on Nawada, Dr Rohini Acharya to contest from Saran, Archana Ravidas to contest Jamui (Reserved), Jayprakash Narayan Yadav Banka, Bima Bharti Purnea, Lalit Yadav Darbhanga, Sudhakar Singh Buxar, Chandahas Chaupal Supaul, Dr Misa Bharti Patliputra, Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla Vaishali, Abhay Kumar Kushwaha Aurangabad, Shivchandra Ram Hajipur (Reserved), Shahnawaz Alam Araria, Dr Surendra Prasad Jahanabad, Anita Devi Mahto Munger, Alok Kumar Mehta Ujiarpur, Arjun Rai Sitamarhi, Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi Madhubani, Dipak Yadav Valmiki Nagar, Ritu Jaiswal Sheohar and Kumar Chandradeep Madhepura.
Among them five candidates are sitting MLAs. such as Kumar Sarvjeet, Sudhakar Singh, Bima Bharti, Shahnawaj Alam and Alok Kumar Mehta.
Bima Bharti is a rebellious MLA of JD-U. She recently joined RJD and obtained the ticket of Purnea.
Mohammad Shahnawaz Alam won the 2020 assembly election from Jokihat in Ararai on AIMIM ticket. He later joined RJD in 2022. RJD has given him Araria Lok Sabha seat to contest the election 2024.
RJD has given ticket to Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla who is considered as a Bahubali leader in Vaishali and Lalganj area. Shukla will challenge Veena Devi of LJPR. Anita Devi Mahto is another candidate who is a wife of Bahubali leader Ashok Mahto. She is contesting from Munger against former JD-U national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh.
Ali Ashraf Fatmi who quit JD-U recently and joined RJD. He is contesting from Madhubani Lok Sabha seat.
Dipak Yadav is a rebellious leader of BJP. He recently joined RJD and got the ticket to contest from Valmikinagar.
Ritu Jaiswal is a spokesperson of RJD and her selection has surprised everyone.
