Patna, April 15, 2024: A political war of words escalated in Bihar after Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for eating fish during Navratri.
Rajnath Singh criticized Tejashwi Yadav:
Addressing a rally in Jamui on Sunday, Singh remarked, “Whatever he eats, fish, pork, elephant, horse or pigeon—that is his choice—but why is there a need to show it to everyone?”
Responding a day later, Tejashwi Yadav accused Singh of trying to curry favour with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I respect Rajnath Singh. He is an elderly person and a guardian for me. But if he did not say anything like this, how would PM Modi be happy? He only said it to maintain his relevance in the BJP. He has not spoken on real issues,” Yadav said.
Tejashwi Yadav hit back at Rajnath Singh over the Agniveer scheme:
The Leader of Opposition in Bihar further attacked Singh for remaining silent on the Agniveer scheme, which he claimed has “hurt the youth” of the country.
Tejashwi also dismissed Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan’s claim that the NDA would sweep all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. “What is new in such claims? They have a ‘jumlebaj’ government. They have failed to provide jobs to youths, and the prices of essential commodities are rising. Why don’t they address these real issues?” he said.
