Railway Protection Force Jawan saved to life of a woman in Dehri.

Patna, August 26: Railway Protection Force Jawan saved the life of a woman passenger in Bihar’s Dehri railway station on Tuesday evening.

The victim was pulled a second before she fell on the railway track.

The woman passenger, who was en route to Varanasi, reached platform number 3 to catch 18103 up Jaliawala Bagh Express at 5.33 pm. The train was on the scheduled time and the woman passenger arrived slightly late.

When she tried to board the running train, she failed to grip the handle properly and fell on the edge of the platform. She was about to fall inside the platform. Head Constable Braj Bhushan Mishra, who was patrolling the platform, sprinted towards her and pulled her to safety before she could fall.

“A woman passenger was scheduled to go to Varanasi and was trying to board a running train. Our head constable was present at the railway station and promptly rescued the woman before she fell onto the track. The woman passenger is safe and she requested not to reveal her identity,” said Ramvilas Ram, SHO of Railway Protection Force police station Dehri railway station.

This incident is not isolated. On March 3, 2024, another woman attempted to catch a train at Gaya Junction railway station and was about to fall onto the track. She was also saved by an Railway Protection Force constable and some passengers who managed to push her back onto the train in time.
