Rahul Gandhi taunted PM Narendra Modi over the interview and vowed to scrap the Agniveer scheme.

Patna, May 27, 2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a massive rally in Khusrupur block under the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, accusing the PM of arrogance, scripted media interviews, and an attempt to undermine the Constitution.

Reacting to PM Modi’s recent media appearance, Rahul said, “Narendra Modi is saying he will put Tejashwi in jail. You’ve seen his interviews—four people interview him, and one asks how he eats mangoes—by biting or sucking? It looks like a question paper leak. The questions were given to him in advance. In the same interview, he says God has sent him, that he is not biological but a messenger of God.”

Rahul Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of trying to destroy the Constitution, saying, “The 2024 election is an election to save the Constitution. These people want to tear Ambedkar and Nehru’s Constitution apart. Before it was made, Dalit, backward and tribal people had no rights. We will not let them change it—not while we are here.”

Rahul Gandhi also targeted Modi over unfulfilled job promises, demonetization, and the GST policy, saying both measures shut down job opportunities.”

“Modi promised two crore jobs a year, but did not give even one. Instead, by implementing demonetization and GST, he destroyed small businesses and employment,” he said.

On defence reforms, Rahul Gandhi vowed to scrap the Agniveer scheme if the INDIA bloc forms the next government.

“When the INDIA bloc comes to power, the Agniveer scheme will be torn and thrown into the dustbin. Soldiers under this scheme are being denied benefits. We will restore permanent jobs and pensions as before,” Gandhi said.

Sharing the stage, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav announced a major welfare promise.

“A list of poor families, including Dalits, tribal, backward classes and poor upper castes, will be made. One woman from each family will receive Rs 8,500 every month, directly in her bank account on the 5^th of every month,” Yadav said.

Tejashwi also launched a scathing personal attack on Modi, saying, “The level of the Prime Minister’s language has fallen so low that no family wants to listen to him. He talks about temples, mosques, fish, mutton, and mujra, but not about people’s problems. There is no bigger liar the the Prime Minister,” he said.

The rally in Khusrupur saw the presence of several INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress State President Akhilesh Singh, VIP Chief Mukesh Sahani, CPI-ML leader Dipankar Bhattacharya, and Congress in-charge Mohan Prakash.

Rahul Gandhi later addressed two more rallies in Patliputra and Arrah Lok Sabha constituencies, where Misa Bharti and Sudama Prasad (CPI-ML) are contesting, respectively. Ansul Avijit is in the fray from Patna Sahib.
