Patna, September 24, 2025: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, attending the CWC meeting in Patna, criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for neglecting the rights of Extremely Backward Castes, Other Backward Castes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes over the past 20 years.

Nitish Kumar used these communities for votes but never gave them their constitutional rights. Our government will ensure that these rights are fully realized,” Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi highlighted voter rights and youth participation:

Gandhi highlighted the Voter Adhikar Yatra, which he led over 15 days across Bihar, warning that the Constitution is under attack and citizens’ rights are being undermined.

He asserted that youth in Bihar played a crucial role in preventing the BJP from implementing voter manipulation measures.

Historic backward class vision:

Rahul Gandhi announced a historic 10 proposals for Extremely Backward Classes prepared after consulting communities directly.

He mentioned key features include 50% reservation for backward classes in government contracts worth Rs 25 crore.

Ensure fair participation in every section in governance and development initiatives, and advocate for a nationwide caste-based census to reveal the true number of backward classes and address limitations like the 50% reservation cap.

Rahul Gandhi targeted the Nitish Kumar government, saying, “They should have done this work over the past 20 years. Instead, they only took your votes and discarded you afterward.”

The Congress leader emphasized that this vision is not merely theoretical but will be implemented if the Congress-led alliance forms the next government in Bihar.
