Rahul Gandhi accuses PM Modi of ‘Surrendering’ under pressure from Donald Trump during Operation Sindoor.

Patna, June 6, 2025: In a sharp political attack, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “surrendering” to foreign pressure during Operation Sindoor, claiming that the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan was made under the pressure of US president Donald Trump.
Speaking at the Samvidhan Sammelan (Constitutional Dialogue) in Rajgir, Nalanda district, Rahul Gandhi said, “Donald Trump has publicly said 11 times that he pressured PM Modi into surrendering. What’s more shocking is that Modi hasn’t denied it even once. If Trump were lying, wouldn’t Modi have at least said something? The truth is Trump is telling the truth.”
Narendra Modi has a habit of Surrendering Rahul Gandhi:
Rahul Gandhi, continuing his attack, stated: “I knew he would surrender if we applied pressure. It’s in his nature. You all know he has a habit of surrender.”
He also drew a broader ideological parallel, saying: “I am fighting against RSS. They have a history of surrender. Whenever they feel pressure, they start writing letters. In today’s world, they do it through WhatsApp.”
Context: Operation Sindoor and ceasefire:
The remarks of Rahul Gandhi come against the backdrop of Operation Sindoor, a high-stakes military operation launched by the Indian Defence Forces on May 7.
The operation involved major troop movements and limited cross-border action. However, a ceasefire was announced on May 10, just three days after its launch.

The ceasefire gained international attention when Donald Trump, on his official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claimed credit for brokering peace between India and Pakistan.
This statement has become a key talking point for the opposition
Repeated attacks by Rahul Gandhi:
This is not the first time Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi government of surrendering to external pressure.
At a recent rally in Bhopal, he made similar allegations about PM Modi.
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks came during his one-day tour of Bihar on Friday.
He began the day in Gaya, where he visited Gahlor village to pay tribute to Dasharatha Manjhi, popularly known as the Mountain Man, who famously carved a path through a mountain single-handedly.
He later travelled to Rajgir to participate in the constitutional dialogue and address issues relating to democratic values and alleged centralization of power under the Modi-led government.
