Rabri Devi criticized NDA and calls the current regime ‘Rakshas Raj’.

Patna, June 19, 2025: Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi launched a scathing attack on the NDA government, accusing it of targeting the RJD on dynastic politics while failing to address the core issues of governance and poverty.
Her remarks came during the State Council meeting of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) held at Gyan Bhawan, Patna, chaired by RJD National President Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The event also saw the official felicitation of Mangani Lal Mandal as the party’s new State President.
Rabri Devi attacked Nitish Kumar:
In a pointed dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Rabri Devi said: “What will the one who lives alone understand about family?”
She was responding to repeated criticism from the NDA over alleged dynastic politics in the RJD.
Rabri Devi turned the tables, stressing that RJD considers the entire state its family while accusing the ruling coalition of failing Bihar on all fronts.

Hitting back at criticisms of “Jungle Raj” during the RJD’s tenure, Rabri Devi declared: “Today the government calls our rule Jungle Raj, but the reality is that this is Rakshasa Raj as crime at its peak.”
She claimed the current administration is unjust to the poor, and that any minor controversy involving RJD gets exaggerated in the media, while rampant crime and failure of governance under the NDA are ignored.
Rabri Devi slams Modi government over grain scheme:
Rabri Devi also took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the sufficiency of his welfare measures.
“When Narendra Modi comes to Bihar, he talks about giving 5 kg grains. Will people survive a whole month on just 5 kg of grains? This is like a drop in the ocean,” Rabri Devi said.
She said that despite being in power for 20 years, the NDA has failed to uplift the poor in Bihar.
Calls for unity ahead of elections:
Rabri Devi urged RJD workers to remain united and inclusive, saying: “We must bring everyone together in the elections—all castes and all religions. There is no caste that RJD has not given a place to.”
She also came to the defense of her son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying: “Even when Tejashwi eats Sattu, he is mocked. Let people abuse as much as they want—everything will be clear later.”
During the occasion, several senior leaders participated in the meeting, including Mangani Lal Mandal, RJD State President, Abdulbari Siddiqui, Ramchandra Purve, Sunil Singh, Shivanand Tiwari and others.
