Prime Minister Narendra Modi great bonanza for tribal people, inaugurated projects worth Rs 6640 Crore.

Patna November 15, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs.6,640 crore and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the tribal community to India’s freedom struggle.
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit Jamui and interact with over one crore people connected via technology during the “Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas” event.
PM Modi also honored the descendants of Birsa Munda, underscoring the significance of preserving and celebrating tribal heritage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated tribal contribution in freedom struggle:
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the historical resilience of the tribal community, referencing the Ulgulan and Santhal rebellions, which were significant tribal uprisings against colonial rule.
PM Modi also criticized post-independence efforts by certain political parties that, he claimed, overlooked or marginalized the tribal population.
“In the decades after independence, attempts were made to erase the invaluable contribution of tribal history. There was selfish politics behind this too. The policy was that only one party should be given credit for India’s independence. But if only one part, only one family has brought independence, then why did Lord Birsa Munda’s Ulgulan movement take place, what was the Santhal revolution, what was the Kol revolution?” Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked.
He noted the community’s long-standing role in supporting national leaders like Shivaji Maharaj, further emphasizing their role in India’s fight for freedom.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave many projects for the tribal people:
As part of the development initiatives, PM Modi emphasized the importance of housing projects, and around 11,000 people participated in a ceremonial ‘Griha Pravesh’ (home entry) for their new homes.
These projects reflect a holistic focus on uplifting tribal communities, with efforts ranging from honoring their heritage to addressing basic needs like housing and healthcare.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar’s Jamui district on Friday to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda.
During this event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over Rs.6,640, part of a broader outreach to tribal communities in key electoral states like Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
The celebrations took place in Ballapur village, located in Jamui’s Khaira block, as part of the Central Government’s “Tribal Pride Day” (Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas) initiative.
Among the significant projects launched by PM Modi was the “Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan,” aimed at the economic and social empowerment of tribal villages.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also appreciated efforts of President of India:
PM Narendra Modi emphasized the pride of having Draupadi Murmu as India’s first tribal President, calling it a momentous achievement for the NDA government. He credited her leadership with an advanced initiative under schemes like the PM Janman Yojana.
“With a budget of Rs 24000 crore, the PM Janman Yojana aims to improve living conditions in extremely backward tribal settlements. Over the past year, the scheme has provided thousands of concrete houses to the most disadvantaged tribes, built hundreds of kilometers of roads to improve connectivity in remote tribal regions, preservation of tribal art and culture advocates have been honoured with prestigious Padma Awards, recognizing their contributions to India rich cultural tapestry,” he said.
Additionally, he inaugurated two tribal freedom fighter museums and two tribal research institutes dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history, heritage, and contributions of India’s tribal communities.
Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Sinha, Giriraj Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi along with other Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders, joined the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on stage, underscoring the importance of the event.
This gathering affects the government’s commitment to tribal welfare and development, with a special focus on recognizing tribal heritage and advancing infrastructure in tribal regions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jamui, Bihar, began around 11 am, and he spent approximately 30 minutes viewing an exhibition set up in honor of “Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas” (Tribal Pride Day).
His visit, which extended until 2 pm, included live communication with 30 state headquarters and 100 district headquarters, with participation from a total of 549 districts across India, amplifying the national observance of this day dedicated to tribal heritage.
During the event, PM Modi unveiled a commemorative coin and a postage stamp in honor of Birsa Munda, a legendary tribal leader and freedom fighter, in recognition of his 150th birth anniversary.
Prime MInister Narendra Modi also marked the “Griha Pravesh” ( housewarming ceremony) for 11,000 new homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM-Janman), an initiative focused on housing for tribal communities.
To improve healthcare access in remote tribal regions, PM Modi inaugurated 23 new Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under PM-Janman and an additional 30 MMUs under the “Dharti Abha Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan” (DAJGUI).
These units aim to provide essential health services directly to underserved tribal areas, reflecting the government’s commitment to tribal welfare through healthcare, housing, and social recognition initiatives.
