Prashant Kishor appeals to Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav to join students’ agitation on day 4 hunger strike.

Patna January 5, 2025: On the fourth day of his hunger strike, Prashant Kishor, Chief of the Jan Suraj Party, urged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav to join the ongoing student movement in Bihar.

Prashant Kishor declared his readiness to step aside and support from the background if they would lead the students’ movement.

“This movement is not about any one person, it is a fight against the broken system of Bihar,” Kishor said during a media interaction in Patna.

“I appeal to all political leaders, whether it is Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, or anyone else, to join us. I will sit behind them and support this movement. If the youth decide that these leaders will lead, I am ready to step back.”

Prashant Kishor said it is a youth-driven movement for systemic reform:

To strengthen the cause, a 51-member Yuva Satyagraha Committee has been formed by uniting various student groups from across Bihar. Kishor emphasized that the movement, which initially targeted issues with the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), has evolved into a broader fight against systemic dysfunction.

“Even if the administration arrests me, this Satyagraha will continue,” Kishor asserted. “This movement will now be carried forward by the 51-member Yuva Satyagraha Committee, which is committed and will continue to support them. This fight is no longer just about the BPSC but against the entire system of Bihar.”

An Urgent Call for Public Support:

Prashant Kishor appealed to the people of Bihar to support the students actively. “Sitting under quilts and blankets will not improve Bihar. It is your duty to stand with these children,” he urged.

Reiterating the strength of collective action, Kishor said, “Our struggle will continue as a youth-led Jan Shakti. No matter how powerful the government may be, there is no greater force than the power of the people.”

A Vision for Bihar’s Future:

Prashant Kishor expressed his admiration for the youth’s commitment, saying, “The dedication of these young individuals is far stronger than I expected. This fight is not just about BPSC it is about improving the system of Bihar. The youth must rally behind this struggle for the future of our state.”

He concluded with a call to action, “We are not fighting this battle merely by sitting in Gandhi Maidan. We are walking the path of Satyagraha for Bihar’s future. I invite everyone to join us and support this movement for change.
