PM Narendra Modi will visit Siwan on Friday to launch Rs. 5,700 crore projects in Bihar.

Patna, June 19, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Siwan district of Bihar on June 20, where he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth over Rs.5,700 crore.
The public address and launch event will begin around 12 noon, with several key dignitaries expected to attend.
This high-profile visit is seen as a major boost to infrastructure and socio-economic development in Bihar, especially in the run-up to the state assembly elections later this year.
PM Narendra Modi aiming to enhance railway connectivity for North Bihar:
In a significant upgrade to the state’s railway infrastructure, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vaishali—Deoria railway line project, constructed at a cost of over Rs. 400 crore, and flag off a new passenger train on this route.

The Prime Minister will also launch the Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra (Patna) and Gorakhpur, passing through key cities like Muzaffarpur and Bettiah greatly enhancing high-speed connectivity in North Bihar. Fulfilling the vision of ‘Make in India—Make for the World’, PM Modi will flag off the first export locomotive built at the Marhowra Locomotive Plant.
Bound for the Republic of Guinea, this state-of-the-art engine features high horsepower, advanced AC propulsion, microprocessor controls, ergonomic cab design and regenerative braking technology.
Namamai Gange and urban water projects:
In alignment with his mission to rejuvenate the Ganga River, Narendra Modi will inaugurate six new Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) worth Rs. 1,800 crore under the Namami Gange project, to serve critical sanitation needs across the region.
In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for urban water supply, sanitation, and STP projects totaling over Rs 3,000 crore, aimed at improving access to clean drinking water and enhancing public health infrastructure in multiple towns across Bihar.

Taking a leap towards modernizing Bihar’s power infrastructure, Narendra Modi will launch a 500 MWh battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiative.
These standalone systems will be installed at 15 substations across Bihar, including Siwan, Motihari, Bettiah, and Muzaffarpur.
The battery capacities, ranging from 20 MWh to 80 MWh, will enable the grid to store surplus power and release it during peak demand, helping reduce costs and improve reliability for consumers.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to housing for all, the Prime Minister will release the first installment of funds to over 53,600 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) in Bihar.
He will also hand over house keys to select families as part of a Grih Parvesh ceremony for more than 6,600 newly completed homes. Final preparations for the Siwan rally are complete. The venue is under tight security surveillance, with local and central security forces ensuring a high level of preparedness.
