Patna, May 4, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public rally in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, calling both of them “princes of corruption and misgovernance.”
Narendra Modi said Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav have similar report cards:
“One prince is in Delhi and another in Patna. One has considered the whole country his family property, and her other has done the same with Bihar. Their report cards are identical—full of scams and lawlessness,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of attempting to divide the country on religious lines and alleged that the RJD is supporting the move.
“Under Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s leadership, it was decided 75 years ago that reservations could cannot be based on religion. Even Pandit Nehru opposed religious reservation, but Congress is now betraying both. They are stabbing the Constitution in the back,” he said.
PM Modi claimed that Congress wants to reduce the OBC quota:
PM Narendra Modi claimed that Congress wants to reduce the OBC quota and transfer it to Muslims on a religious basis. “I’ve challenged Congress for 12 days to give a written assurance that it will not snatch SC, ST, and OBC reservations and give them to Muslims—but they remain silent,” he added.
Targeting the RJD, PM Modi said its leaders have started “counting Hindus and Muslims in the army.” He accused the party of running “appeasement politics under the mask of social justice.”
The Prime Minister also attacked the Congress over its alleged proposal for a ‘heritage tax,’ saying, “Congress wants a law under which, when their government is formed, you won’t inherit your parents’ property—half of it will go to the government. They want to issue a fatwa on your inheritance.”
Recalling past incidents, he said, “When the INDI alliance government (UPA) was in power in Delhi and Maharashtra, Bihari people were attacked and forced to return home. Can you forgive them?”
Praising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, PM Modi said the NDA government in Bihar is working tirelessly for the state’s development. “Karpoori Thakur is our inspiration, and I had the honor of conferring the Bharat Ratna on him recently,” he added.
Highlighting his government’s achievements, PM Modi said, “India’s global credibility is at its peak. Ten years ago, we were the 11th largest economy. Today, we’re the fifth. We’ve even reached the moon.” The Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency goes to polls in the fourth phase on May 13. BJP’s Gopal Ji Thakur, the sitting MP, is contesting against Lalit Yadav of the RJD.
