PM Narendra Modi gifts Bihar projects worth Rs. 7,217 crore, calls for a developed Bihar to build a developed India.

Patna, July 18, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced development projects worth Rs. 7,217 crore for Bihar from the historic land of Champaran, asserting that a developed Bihar is essential for a developed India.
Addressing a large gathering at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari, PM Modi said: “To take India forward, we have to make Bihar a developed state. Today, work in Bihar is moving rapidly because there is a government at the Centre and in the state that cares for Bihar.”
PMK Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs. 7,217 crore in Bihar, including Rs. 5,398 crore railway projects, Rs. 63 crore IT projects, Rs. 1,173 crore road projects, Rs. 562 crore rural development and 21 crore in the fisheries sector.
PM Narendra Modi’s vision for Bihar:
PM Narendra Modi emphasized that eastern states must now lead India’s growth, Similar to the way eastern countries are rising globally.
“This is the era of our eastern states. Just like Mumbai in the west, Motihari should become known in the east. Like Gurugram, Gaya should have opportunities. Patna should develop industrially like Pune. Santhal Pargana should progress like Surat, and Jalpaiguri and Jaipur should set tourism records like Jaipur.”
PM Narendra Modi invoked the spirit of Champaran: PM Modi said that this land of Gandhiji’s movement will inspire a new future for Bihar.
Attack on previous governments:
PM Modi criticized the Congress-RJD rule, saying: “During their rule, it was impossible for funds meant for the poor to reach the poor. They only thought about how to loot the poor’s money. In 10 years of the UPA, Bihar received only Rs. 2lakh crore, but in 10 years of the NDA, it has received many times more for development.”
PM Narendra Modi said that the direct transfer of welfare benefits to the poor in Bihar is now a reality because the state has been freed from the shackles of Congress and RJD.
On PM Modi’s visit, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar expressed gratitude, stating: “You are giving a big gift to Bihar today. These projects will accelerate the development of the state. Heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this important initiative in the interest of Bihar.”

CM Nitish reiterated that it is the state’s aim that Bihar reaches new heights every day under the vision of Developed Bihar for Developed India.
PM Modi’s visit comes amid the 2025 Bihar Assembly election environment, marking his sixth visit to Bihar this year, signaling the BJP’s intent to aggressively expand its narrative around development, youth employment, and Eastern India’s rise while countering the opposition’s charges.
