Patna June 14: The severe heat has been disrupting normal life in Bihar and its effect is also affecting the water supply in the state.
On Friday, Bihar’s Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) minister Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu face a problem in his residence in Patna.
PHED ministry bihar has a job to provide potable water across the state but its own minister of the cabinet rank faced water scarcity in his residence.
“There could be faults in the water pipelines. I have complained to the civic agency (Municipal Corporation of Patna). Our government led by CM Nitish Kumar has a vision to provide tap water to every house. Our Prime Minister has the same vision to provide potable water to every house,” Neeraj Kumar Bablu said while speaking the the media persons about this incident.
The reason for the interrupted water supply to the minister’s home may be due to the negligence of the Municipal Corporation of Patna but it is a serious matter.
The Bihar government has not allotted the Bungalow to Neeraj Kumar Bablu and hence he is residing in the MLA flat in Patna. The MLA flats are newly built and are very well equipped with all the facilities but the shortage of water appeared here.
The water crisis may deepen if there is no rain in the state. According to the latest report from the Water Resources Department, the condition of the big rivers is not good and if there is no rain in the next 1 week, then the water level is likely to go down by half a meter. The condition of barrages such as Gandak Barrage located in Valmiki Nagar and Birpur Barrage on Kosi River is continuously deteriorating. Only 33000 cusecs of water are left in Birpur Barrage and only 10000 cusecs of water are left in Valmiki Nagar Barrage.
