Patna, September 30, 2025: Bhojpuri Cinema power star Pawan Singh is officially set to return to the BJP months after contesting as an independent candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to party sources, a formal announcement of his re-entry will be made on October 5.

Pawan Singh has a courtesy meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda in New Delhi:

Ahead of the announcement, Singh held a series of key meetings in Delhi with Upendra Kushwaha, the NDA leader he had contested against in Karakat, and later with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda.

Pawan Singh, a journey from rebellion to reconciliation:

During the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Singh had sought a BJP ticket from the Ara constituency in Bihar.

Instead, the party fielded him from Asansol, West Bengal.

Upset with the decision, Singh returned the ticket and chose to contest from Karakat as an independent candidate against Upendra Kushwaha.

The contest resulted in a three-way split of votes, with Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha of the CPI-ML emerging victorious, while both Pawan Singh and Upendra Kushwaha lost.

The outcome was seen as a major setback for the NDA in the region.

Political calculations in Shahabad:

Sources within the BJP say the party is now looking to repair the damage caused in Karakat and strengthen its hold in Shahabad, a politically crucial belt.

By reconciling Singh with Upendra Kushwaha, the BJP hopes to consolidate Bhojpuri-speaking voters and youth support, leveraging Singh’s star power to counter the opposition alliance in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly election.
