Pawan Khera alleges voter list revision in Bihar a conspiracy, attacks Centre and EC.

Patna, June 27, 2025: Senior Congress leader and head of the party’s media and publicity department Pawan Khera launched a sharp attack on the central government and the Election Commission (EC) over the voter list revision drive in Bihar, alleging it is a well-planned conspiracy to deprive lakhs of people of their right to vote.
“The Election Commission is not answering our questions. It is working completely at the behest of the central government, and impartiality no longer exists,” Khera said while interacting with the media persons at Patna Airport on Friday.
When asked about Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s “small state” remark, Pawan Khera dismissed the controversy as a political conspiracy spread by the BJP. He asserted that Congress never considered Bihar small.
On the BJP’s nationwide programs highlighting the emergency, Khera said:
Pawan Khera responds to BJP’s emergency campaign and Prashant Kishor’s remarks:
“The emergency that BJP is talking about was later rejected by the public. The people of the country gave Indira Gandhi 353 seats and made her the Prime Minister again. An apology was also sought, and the matter ended there.”

Responding to Prashant Kishor’s remarks that “Congress ruined Bihar as much as Lalu did,” Khera said: “The people of Bihar know everything including where Prashant Kishor comes from. Wherever he goes, the people of Bihar will recognize and answer him.”
On Tejashwi Yadav as CM face and Congress’s strategy:
Asked whether the Congress sees Tejashwi Yadav as the opposition’s CM face in Bihar, Khera said: “Now is not the time to react to that. When the time comes, the Congress and the Grand Alliance will decide.”

Pawan Khera informed that after attending internal Congress organizational programs in Patna, he will hold a major press conference to openly address issues related to the Election Commission, the central government, inflation, unemployment, and the state of constitutional institutions.
The Congress’s aggressive tone signals a clear build-up toward the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, with party insiders hinting that Congress’s strategy on opposition unity and the Grand Alliance against the BJP may be unveiled in the coming days.
