Patna High Court will hear the 70th BPSC PT Exam amid ongoing controversy.

Patna February 4, 2025: Patna High Court is scheduled to hear a significant case concerning the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Tuesday.

This hearing, initially set for January 31, was postponed due to the absence of Justice Arvind Kumar Chandel, who was on leave. Consequently, the session was rescheduled on February 4. The controversy surrounding the BPSC PT exam stems from allegations of irregularities, including question paper leaks and procedural lapses.

Patna High Court earlier postponed the hearing:

These concerns have led to widespread protests in Patna, with candidates demanding the cancellation of the preliminary examination and a re-examination. Notably, 14 petitions have been filed in the Patna High Court seeking the exam’s cancellation. The court has consolidated these petitions into a single case for the hearing.

In response to the protests, the BPSC conducted a re-examination on January 4 for the candidates at the Bapu examination centre in Patna’s Kumhrar locality, where significant irregularities were reported during the initial exam on December 13, 2024.

Despite these measures, candidates continue to be dissatisfied, alleging that their grievances have not been adequately addressed by BPSC officials.

As the Patna High Court will hear on Tuesday to deliberate on this matter, the outcome is anticipated to have substantial implications for the future of the 70th BPSC PT examination and the candidates involved.

Previously, on January 16, the Patna High Court directed BPSC to file a response to the petitions by January 30.

BPSC has already announced the result of the 70th PT Exam:

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the BPSC announced the PT exam results on January 23, 2025. Out of 328990 candidates who appeared for the preliminary examination, 21,581 have qualified.

The Supreme Court had earlier declined to hear a plea regarding the alleged irregularities in the BPSC exam, advising petitioners to approach the Patna High Court instead.

As the High Court convenes on Tuesday, candidates and stakeholders are keenly awaiting its decision, which could have significant implications for the future of the 70th BPSC PT examination.
