Patna, December 5, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday inaugurated the Patna Book Fair 2025 at the Gandhi Maidan.
Bihar Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary was also present during the ceremony.
After the inauguration, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited stalls of the various publication houses.
On the same occasion, he released “Vikas Purush,” a book written by Murli Manohar Srivastava and published by Pangram Publishers.
Ratneshwar, President of the Centre for Readership Development, the organizing body, said this is the 41st edition of the Patna Book Fair and holds special importance due to its historical significance.
World’s most expensive book on display in Patna Book Fair:
The biggest attraction at this year’s fair is Ratneshwar’s book “I,” touted as the world’s most expensive book, priced at Rs 15 crore.
The book, available in both Hindi and English, is being showcased for the first time at any book fair worldwide.
Free entry for students:
The organizers of the Patna Book Fair have given free entry for the schoolchildren in uniform, Monday to Friday, and free entry for all college students.
All stages and structures at the book fair have been named after eminent Acharyas and great gurus.
The 2025 edition of the Patna Book Fair will feature over 300 events, including Mushaira, Kavi Sammelan, Gyan and Gurukul, Yuva Swar, Kavi-Pathan, Jan Samvad, Cinema-Unema, Aao Aao Natak Dekho, Campus Activities, Our Heroes and School Utsav.
Additionally, daily screening of feature films, short films, and documentaries will be held.
