Patna, April 3, 2024: Five-time MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Wednesday alleged that RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav repeatedly cheated him despite his crucial support in the past.

“I helped Lalu Prasad Yadav when he needed one vote to become the Leader of Opposition and later the Chief Minister of Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav was not even born at that time,” Pappu Yadav told reporters in Purnea.

He claimed that during 1990, when Lalu Prasad needed MLAs’ backing to form the government, he stood firmly with him, along with 11 legislators. “Despite that, he always betrayed me,” Yadav said.

Pappu Yadav refused to leave Purnea:

The Jan Adhikar Party leader, who recently merged his outfit with the Congress, clarified that he was unwilling to leave Purnea. “I told Lalu Prasad I wouldn’t go to Madhepura or Supaul to contest. If you object to my joining Congress, give me an RJD ticket from Purnea. I am ready to fight from here, but will not leave Purnea,” he asserted.

Yadav also claimed that Lalu Prasad’s family members had called him multiple times, but he refused to disclose the details of those conversations.

Pappu Yadav will contest against the RJD leader:

He reiterated that he will file his nomination as an independent candidate from Purnea on Thursday. Earlier in the day, Bima Bharti filed her nomination as the RJD candidate from the same constituency in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav.
