Opposition leaders are misleading people over reservation, says Ravishankar Prasad.
Patna April 30: BJP candidate of Patna Sahib Ravishankar Prasad on Tuesday said that the leaders of opposition parties are misleading people by raising the reservation issue out of frustration and disappointment of defeat.
“Congress and RJD leaders are raising only one line about if BJP will come into power again, it will finish the reservation and change the constitution of the country. It shows the disappointment of the opposition parties. PM Narendra Modi has said that the reservation of SC, ST and OBC will remain as it is in the country and there is no doubt about it,” the former law minister said.
“They are repeatedly saying that if BJP comes, the reservation will end. I want to say that there can be no bigger lie, shameful and baseless things than this. They have made Muslim people OBC in Karnataka and now they will implement the same in Telangana too,” Prasad said.
Ravishankar Prasad also said that Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar was against the religion-based reservation in the country.
“Reservation is not based on religion in the country and the Supreme Court has repeatedly said this. In the reservation for Scheduled Castes, it is mentioned that reservation is for Hindus because they are neglected and oppressed,” he said.
Ravishankar Prasad also targeted Rahul Gandhi on heritage tax.
“Rahul Gandhi said that he would conduct a survey of the properties of common people and then make revolutionary decisions. This means that the INDIA bloc will grab the property of the common man. This is a Maoist thinking of Rahul Gandhi. I am highly disappointed with the statement of Rahul Gandhi,” Prasad said.
