Nityanand Rai hits back at Tejashwi over Jamai Aayog jibe; Defends commission appointments.

Patna, June 18, 2025: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has come out strongly against Tejashwi Yadav’s “Jamai Aayog” remark, asserting that the RJD leader has no moral authority to make such comments.

The sharp response came amid a political war of words in Bihar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled rally in Siwan on June 20.

Nityanand Rai claimed appointment happened on the basis of merit:

Nityanand Rai said the appointments made to various government commissions have been done based strictly on merit, experience, and transparency, rejecting allegations of nepotism.

“These are not kinship-based appointments. The opposition’s accusations are baseless and politically motivated,” he stated.

Taking a pointed dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Rai labeled it a “family-centric party,” saying, “The RJD is run like a private estate, where Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Rohini Acharya, and Tejashwi Yadav—all hold key positions. They should introspect before leveling baseless allegations.”

NDA leaders claimed the upcoming rally of PM will be historic:

Nityanand Rai also spoke about Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming rally in Siwan, calling it historic.

“There’s tremendous enthusiasm among people. All constituents of the NDA are actively preparing for the rally,” he said. He further emphasized Bihar’s emotional connection with the Prime Minister.

“The people of Bihar consider PM Modi as one of their own. He has always prioritized the state’s development,” Rai said.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal shared that this will be PM Modi’s 52nd visit to Bihar and the sixth in this year.

“He will arrive at Jasoli village in Siwan at 10:00 am on Friday, June 20. Lakhs of people from Siwan, Saran, and Gopalganj are expected to attend. Every time he visits, he brings development gifts for the state,” Jaiswal said.

With political temperatures rising and verbal volleys intensifying, Bihar remains firmly in the national spotlight ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
