Nitish Mishra launched the idea festival portal to boost start-ups and innovation in Bihar.

Patna, July 14, 2025: Taking a historic step to encourage start-ups and entrepreneurship in Bihar, State Industry Minister Nitish Mishra inaugurated the ‘Bihar Idea Festival Portal’ at Vikas Bhawan, Patna on Monday.

This digital platform aims to directly connect youth, girl students, start-ups, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs with the schemes of the Industry Department.

The launch coincides with the final phase of the Bihar Idea Festival 2025, whose two-day fair is currently underway in Patna. So far, the festival has been held across 24 districts, collecting business ideas from participants.

Selected ideas will receive government support and investor connections worth over Rs. 50 crore.

Nitish Mishra said the Bihar government will fund Rs. 10 lakh for selected start-ups:

Under the festival, winners will also get an opportunity to pitch for seed funding of up to Rs. 10 lakh under the Startup Bihar Policy.

Speaking at the event, Industry Department Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said: “Through this digital portal, youth or students from any corner of the state can now share their ideas and benefit from the department’s schemes.”

Shraddha Sharma, CEO of Terrastory Media Private Limited, highlighted the collective efforts to provide a platform for innovative ideas.

“We have tried to collect revolutionary ideas from across the state and give them an effective platform. This portal will further strengthen our efforts,” Sharma said.

The event was attended by Khadi Director Mikul Gupta, Handcrafts and Silk Director Dr. Mihir Tripathi, heads of startup incubation centers, coordinators, and hundreds of startup founders.

Industry Minister  Nitish Mishra, in his address, stated: “This portal will prove to be a milestone towards new thinking, a new future, and self-reliance in Bihar. In line with the Vision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, we want ro make Bihar the want ro make Bihar the capital of innovation.”

Nitish Mishra said the Bihar Idea Festival Portal can be accessed at www.startupbihar.in, where youth, students, and entrepreneurs can register their ideas and connect with the Industry Department’s schemes.
