Nitish Kumar worshipped Goddess Durga on Mahasaptami and prays for peace in Bihar.

Patna, September 29, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar marked the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri by visiting prominent Durga Puja Pandals in Patna on Monday, offering prayers and seeking blessings for the state’s peace, prosperity and happiness.

Nitish Kumar visited Durga Puja Pandals in Patna:

Nitish Kumar first visited the Shri Shri Durga Puja Mahotsav Shiv Mandir in Khajpura and the Shri Shri Durga Ashram I Sheikhpura, where he performed rituals and extended Durga Puja greetings to the people of Bihar.

He also prayed at the Shiva temple in Khajpura before heading to the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha.

At Sinha’s residence, the Chief Minister participated in a grand Maha Aarti and Phalahar (Fruit Meal) ceremony, lighting a ceremonial lamp and joining devotees in prayers to Goddess Durga.

Senior leaders, including Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, JDU State President Umesh Kushwaha, and several top bureaucrats, among them Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner S Shiddhartha, Patna DM Tyagarajan SM, Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, were present.

The event carried political significance as well, showcasing a rare moment of unity and harmony within Bihar’s ruling coalition.

Nitish Kumar’s presence alongside Vijay Kumar Sinha was viewed as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect, with the festive celebrations providing a backdrop of cooperation.

The evening concluded with top leaders and guests sharing a fruit meal in a warm, family-like atmosphere, underscoring the spirit of togetherness that Navratri embodies across Bihar.
