Patna, October 3, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday transferred Rs 10,000 each to 25 lakh women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, taking the total number of beneficiaries to 1 crore women so far. An event was organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, 1 Anne Marg, where Kumar interacted with beneficiaries through video conferencing.
Women from several districts joined the program, including Anju Devi, who thanked the Chief Minister after receiving money.
Nitish Kumar announced the scheme on August 29 this year:
The scheme, announced on August 29, was implemented within a month.
On September 26, 75 lakh women had received Rs 10,000 each, coinciding with the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With Friday’s transfer, another 25 lakh beneficiaries have been covered, and the remaining will receive funds on October 6.

Addressing the program, Nitish Kumar said, “The Bihar government will provide up to Rs 2 lakh to women whose businesses run successfully. With this micro-level investment, the scheme will benefit entire families.”
Highlighting women’s empowerment initiatives, he added that since November 24, 2005, the NDA government had given 50% reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions, extended the same to urban local bodies in 2007 and provided 35% reservation for women in government jobs this year.
He also noted the rise of 1.40 crore Jeevika Didis under self-help-group initiatives.
Nitish Kumar targeted the RJD:
Targeting the RJD, Kumar said, “The previous government did nothing for Bihar’s women. Before 2005, did you ever see women working like this? It is the NDA government that has implemented welfare schemes for women, with strong support from the Centre.”
Nitish Kumar also hinted at the upcoming elections, urging support for the NDA to continue Bihar’s progress.

During the event, Bihar’s two Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resource Minister Vijat Kumar Choudhary, Cabinet Minister Shrawan Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Secretary to the Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Anupam Kumar and many other bureaucrats were present.
