Nitish Kumar reviews the progress of the Patna metro and sets the August 2025 deadline for the priority corridor.

Patna, June 11, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday conducted a review of the ongoing construction works under the Patna metro project, focusing particularly on the Malahi Pakdi and Bhootnath metro stations.
Nitish Kumar emphasized for timely completion:
During the visit, he directed officials to ensure timely completion and avoid any hindrances in the project.
Nitish Kumar was accompanied by top officials including Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Kumar and Urban Development Department Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, who presented detailed progress updates.

Using site maps, Singh briefed the CM on developments within the priority corridor, which stretches from Malahi Pakadi to the Patliputra bus terminal.
Nitish Kumar inspected passenger facilities such as escalators, ticket counters, lifts, paid and public areas, and access routes to platforms.
Priority corridor has 5 metro stations:
The total 6.20 km metro line between Malahi Pakadi and Patliputra bus terminal via Khemnichak, Bhoothnath Road, and Zero mile has been marked as a priority section.
The Bihar government has allocated Rs.115.10 crore for the execution of this stretch.
While reviewing the progress, CM Nitish Kumar emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines and maintaining construction quality.
“We have designed the Patna metro project efficiently and continue to monitor its progress closely. Officials have been instructed to ensure that no obstructions delay the work. Complete the project on time to provide citizens with ease of commuting,” he stated.

At the inspection site, CM Nitish Kumar was welcomed with a bouquet by Minister Jivesh Kumar and Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh.
Also, present on the occasion were Principal Secretary CM Deepak Kumar, Secretary to CM Kumar Ravi, Patna division Commissioner Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Tyag Rajan S. M., senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, senior officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Patna Metro Rail Project.
