Nitish Kumar reviews the Patna Metro project, directs officials to speed up work.

Patna, August 19, 2025:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction works on the Patna Metro Terminal in Bairia and the Zeromile Metro Station.

At the Bairia terminal stock of metro rail coaches, tracks, yard facilities, and the power grid. Officials briefed him that the terminal will serve as the hub for metro rail maintenance, cleaning, and operations, with an administrative building to oversee smooth management.

Nitish Kumar was briefed by officials about the amenities:

Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, Abhay Kumar Singh, apprised the CM Nitish Kumar of upcoming passenger amenities, including escalators, ticket counters, lifts, public and paid areas, and platform access routes.

Nitish Kumar directed officials to expedite work:

Directing officials to expedite the pace of work, the Chief Minister said: “We have been continuously inspecting the construction of Metro to ensure quality and timely execution. Clear instructions have been given so that no hurdle delays the project.”

The review was attended by Nitish Kumar’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Abhay Kumar Singh, CM’s Secretary Kumar Ravi, Patna Division Commissioner Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., and other senior officials associated with the Metro project.

The Patna Metro, considered a flagship infrastructure initiative, aims to significantly ease urban mobility and is being closely monitored by the state government to ensure its timely rollout.
