Nitish Kumar reviews road and metro projects in Patna and emphasizes timely completion and quality.

Patna, May 11, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an extensive inspection of key road infrastructure and Patna metro project work across the capital on Sunday.

He reviewed progress on the widening and strengthening of the road from Hathikhana Mor to Chandmari, the Shivala Railway Overbridge (ROB), and took stock of ongoing Patna Metro construction near Saguna Mor.

Nitish Kumar directed officials to expedite construction:

During the visit, Nitish Kumar directed the officials to ensure timely completion of all projects and maintain strict quality standards, while also stressing the importance of routine maintenance of of the existing roads.

The Bihar Chief Minister inspected the crucial Hathikhana Mor to Chandmari Road. The widening of this road is currently underway and it connects areas like TurhaToli, Khirnichak, DPS School and links to Usri-Chitnawan Path.

The road is expected to significantly reduce traffic pressure in western Patna and provide an alternate route to Naubatpur, Jehanabad and Arrah.

Nitish Kumar also inspected the condition of the Shivala ROB and the nearby connecting road under construction.

He halted at Chandmari village and Sainik Mor to assess the progress of the road and ROB development work.

Patna metro project inspection:

The Chief Minister evaluated the progress of the Patna metro, receiving detailed updates from engineers and officials.

He instructed them to avoid unnecessary delay and expedite the pace of the work without compromising safety.

“All construction must be completed within the stipulated time and with high quality. Roads already constructed should be regularly maintained, and alternative routes must be planned effectively to manage traffic flow,” Nitish Kumar told the officials during the inspection.

This visit underscores the state government’s focus on infrastructure development and commitment to improving transport connectivity and urban mobility in Patna.

Upon completion, the ongoing works are expected to bring major relief to commuters and support the city’s growing transport demand.
