Nitish Kumar government’s 3 ministers assumed their respective offices after portfolio distribution on Monday.

Patna, November 24, 2024: Senior NDA leader Bijendra Yadav, along with two other ministers, Sanjay Singh Tiger and Surendra Mehta, took charge of their respective departments on Monday, two days after the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar’s new cabinet.

Ministers of the Nitish Kumar government will soon review their departments:

Veteran JDU leader Bijendra Yadav assumed charge of the Liquor Prohibition Department.

After taking over, he reiterated the government’s strong stance on prohibition.

“Liquor is banned in Bihar, and it will remain banned. We will hold a review meeting, identify shortcomings and ensure effective implementation on the ground,” Yadav said.

Labour Resource Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger took charge of his office as well. He said the ongoing work of the department will now be accelerated.

“We have set targets and we will achieve them. Promoting skill development programs in Bihar and ensuring the welfare of labourers are my priorities. We will conduct a review meeting and set our department priorities,” Tiger said.

Surendra Mehta, who has been allotted the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department, also took charge on Monday.

He said, “The Chief Minister has shown faith in me. We will hold review meetings with department officials and prepare a roadmap to ensure all necessary benefits reach cattle and fisheries farmers.”

Nitish Kumar and 26 ministers sworn in on November 20:

On November 20, Nitish Kumar and 26 ministers of the NDA were sworn in at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.

Since then, several ministers have begun assuming charge of their ministries.

Earlier on Saturday, Dilip Jaiswal took charge of the Industries ministry.

Nitish Kumar’s close aide Ashok Choudhary, assigned to the Rural Work Department, also assumed the office on the same day.

Deepak Prakash, son of RLM chief and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha, assumed charge as Panchayati Raj Minister on Saturday.

Among the 26 ministers inducted into the new cabinet from various NDA constituents, 14 were from the BJP, 8 from the JDU, 2 from the LJPRV, 1 from the RLM and 1 from the HAM.
