Patna, July 25, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar taunts the opposition for wearing black attire inside the Bihar Assembly and creating ruckus on the rift and final day of the monsoon session on Friday.

The last day of the monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly was also marred by continuous uproar and sloganeering by the opposition.

As soon as the Question Hour began, MLAs from the RJD, Congress, and Left parties stormed into the well of the House, shouting slogans and demanding a discussion on the voter list revision.

Opposition members even tried to topple tables despite Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav urging them not to do so.

With the ruckus continuing unabated, the Speaker was forced to adjourn the proceedings.

Nitish Kumar slammed the opposition for disrupting the House:

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was present during the uproar, took a dig at the opposition for wearing black clothes, saying.

“All of them are wearing the same kind of clothes every day. People from different parties are wearing the same clothes and doing the same things. Earlier, there used to be a ruckus for one or two days, but work used to happen on the other days. Now, the situation has become the same every day.”

He added that the public is well aware of the developmental work done by the government, and people are benefiting everywhere.

Session disrupted throughout:

The five-day monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly has been overshadowed by repeated disruptions over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list being conducted by the Election Commission ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

The grand Alliance MLAs have worn black clothes throughout the session to protest against the voter list revision, alleging that the government, in connivance with the Election Commission, is conspiring to remove the names of the poor from the voter list.

The issue has already reached the Supreme Court.

The opposition has vowed not to let the House function without a discussion on the matter. They are demanding Nitish Kumar’s statement on the SIR.
